Bosch PM KitsIntroducing Bosch’s Spare Parts PM Kit Catalog for Vertical Form Fill Seal Equipment

Following up to our post earlier this week regarding Preventive Maintenance Agreements, it seemed appropriate to continue the topic of Preventive Maintenance through our PM Kits.   Preventive Maintenance is what ensures your packaging lines stay up and running during the most essential production times, which is why Bosch works continuously to provide you with the most simplified, yet customized, Preventive Maintenance solutions.  Throughout the year we have launched a few VFFS PM Kits. We are now pleased to release our most recent addition: Minor and Major PM Kits for SVB 3601.

With the completion of the PM Kits for the SVB 3601 comes a VFFS PM Kit Catalog.  The PM Kit Catalog is a compilation of PM Kits for the SVE 3800, SVE 2510 and the SVB 3601.

As always, we will continue to develop PM Kits to fit your needs.  Do you have other Bosch equipment? Vertical or horizontal? Let us know!

Contact your local Bosch representative for more information about our PM Kits.

Preventive Maintenance is basic to any operation that involves equipment with moving parts.  The concept reduces unplanned and costly downtime. Implementing a Bosch Preventive Maintenance Program is an investment to increase your operation’s reliability and product throughput and help to keep operating costs low.

Although many customers practice excellent Preventive Maintenance, there are also many customers who use the “don’t fix it until it breaks” method.  Would this method of maintenance work on your personal vehicle? Of course not! Don’t risk the income potential of your business by not performing maintenance. Not using a planned maintenance approach when serving your machinery is like burning operating capital.  With an ill serviced machine, your asset declines in value faster than depreciation and is costing you valuable production time.

Bosch has a cost-effective Preventive Maintenance solution for all of our customers.  Our customers have many reasons for using the Bosch Preventive Maintenance Agreement (PMA). Some use Bosch PMAs to establish a formal program that allows them to track the progress of maintenance that Bosch performs. Other customers use PMAs to help establish a program that they can eventually operate themselves, with only periodic assistance from Bosch Technicians, updates on factory training or other industry improvements. In any event, for whatever reason Bosch customers use PMAs, they experience a higher level of reliability from their Bosch Packaging Equipment with regular use of the PMA.

PMAs offer many tangible benefits:

  1. A 10% discount on labor for PMA visits
  2. One additional emergency service visit during the PMA period that also is eligible for the 10% labor discount
  3. A 5% discount for parts recommended by the technician during the PMA visit and purchased within 30 days.
  4. Direct access to the assigned technician for emergency help if you need it
  5. Opportunities to train your existing staff on the Bosch Packaging Equipment

Contact your Bosch Representative and ask about the Bosch PMA. You can’t afford not to!

Training GlobeWould you agree that training employees how to optimize their expected job performance is important?  Is it important for employees to take care of company assets, work safely, and produce as much quality product as they can during the time they are working?  I would hope the answer to the above two questions is yes.  If it is, how much time and money have you spent training your employees how to operate your Bosch Packaging Machinery?  Training is an investment and it is important to calculate your return on your training investment.

If you eliminate employee accidents and lost work days due to accidents, the savings can be calculated.  If your team produces additional cases per shift because downtime is reduced or changeover occurs more rapidly, waste and scrape are reduced, the cost savings or additional revenue can be calculated.   Implementing a Bosch Training Program for your Bosch Equipment for either your Operators or Mechanics can improve your operation and you can calculate the savings or revenue improvement benefit resulting from your training investment.

Bosch has both informal and formal training programs available.  An informal program involves our experienced technician working with your employees right at the machine for a hands on experience.  This is an excellent opportunity for employees to ask many questions that they have and receive a professionally experienced answer.  The technician can also demonstrate how to properly set up the machine and make necessary adjustments to improve performance.

The formal training program is extensive and is tailored to fit your needs.  First, we assess the level of experience of your associates. Based on this assessment, we are able to establish a benchmark and develop a program specific to your needs.  Program materials and workbook manuals are prepared for employees.  The training includes both classroom and hands-on machine training.  At the end of the program, each employee will be tested.  Testing allows you to evaluate improvement and determine your yield on investment.  More and more companies are investing in our Formal Training Program because they are realizing the cost savings and revenue improvements the program can bring them.

We Are BoschIn honor of Diversity and Inclusion at Bosch Packaging Services, we held our first annual Diversity Day event at our Raleigh, NC office. Associates each created a flag that they felt represented their background and heritage as well as shared a homemade dish to pass that characterized their culture or region. The event was so much fun and allowed us all an opportunity to get to know each other – and ourselves – even better than before.

FlagsDiversity can be defined many different ways. At Bosch, Diversity and Inclusion are equally important in order to achieve  success and sustain a high performance culture. Diversity at Bosch in North America is essentially different backgrounds, attributes, lifetime experiences and exposures that each individual brings to the group. Inclusion is each individual within the organization feeling welcomed, respected, supported and valued as a team member.

Part of the event was a flag decorating contest. Associates voted on their favorite flags.  Congratulations Blair, Linda, Luisa and Mona for getting the most votes!
